Andhra: How the bail bribe case was cracked

Hyderabad: A CBI team led by joint director VV Lakshminarayana knocked on the door of first additional CBI judge T Pattabhirama Rao's Banjara Hills residence last month, and asked for the keys to his bank lockers. Taken aback, the judge allegedly sputtered, "Keys? What keys? What are you talking about?" The judge has been accused of accepting Rs 2 crore from aides of Gali Janardhan Reddy for giving bail to the mining scam suspect on May 11. Andhra HC orders prosecution of CBI judge

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday granted permission to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to prosecute First Additional Special Judge for CBI cases T Pattabhirama Rao. He was suspended on Thursday by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Justice for alleged irregularities. The CBI is expected to register a case soon. The CBI has claimed that a deal of Rs 6 crore was struck between former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and the suspended judge for the former's bail. Rs 2.8 crore were recovered from the locker of the suspended CBI judge's son, sources told CNN-IBN on Friday. Rao was hearing the Obulapuram mining scam case. Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claims that a deal of Rs 6 crore was struck between former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and suspended CBI judge T Pattabhirama Rao for the former's bail. Rs 2.8 crore have been recovered from the locker of the suspended CBI judge's son, sources said on Friday.
