Father arrested for allowing his minor son to drive Ferrari

Thrissur: The father of a nine year-old boy, who drove a Ferrari F430 recently with his five-year-brother along side, causing widespread outrage, was arrested on Monday and released on bail. Police sources said Mohammed Nisham was arrested by Peramangalam police here, which is investigating the case. He came with the vehicle and was arrested. Since it was a bailable offence, he was granted bail on furnishing two surities of Rs 5000 each, the officer investigating the case told reporters. The Ferrari was seized by police and returned to the owner with the direction to produce it in court whenever ordered. New Delhi: Charges have been filed against a man who allowed his 9-year-old son to drive his Ferrari, Kerala Police said on Monday. Mohammed Nisham was charged with endangering the life of a child and allowing a minor to drive, said Inspector MV Verghese. Nisham's wife filmed the boy driving the sports car on his ninth birthday two weeks ago, with his 7-year-old brother in the passenger seat. BB Mohanty didn't help Bitti jump parole: Kerala Police

Cuttack: After nearly four hours of questioning of Bitti's father, the special investigation team of Kerala Police said on Saturday that BB Mohanty was innocent and didn't help his son jump parole and assume a fake identity of Raghav Rajan. "Our investigation says that BB Mohanty is innocent. He has though identified Bitti's photo available with us," said the Kerala Police team head Joshi Joseph. The senior Mohanty was expected to provide the key to unlock the mystery of Bitti's underground life of the past six years, but despite the claims made by a few witnesses that he did meet his son in Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh earlier, he got a clean chit from the police.

Kannur: Kerala police has arrested Bitti Mohanty, son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty in Kannur, Kerala. Bitti was convicted of raping a German tourist in 2006 and has been absconding since 2006 when he jumped parole. Kerala Police is questioning Bitti at the moment and has informed Rajasthan Police about the arrest. Bitti will be produced in court later in the day. Bitti, working with State Bank of Travancore since June 2012, was arrested on Friday evening. Bitti was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for raping the German national in Alwar, Rajasthan.
